Golf Courses in the Area

If golf is your game, the Roaring Fork Valley is your spot!

Carbondale, Basalt, Aspen and Glenwood Springs are home to affluent retirees from around the country, and they support a variety of private golf clubs. (Arnold Palmer is known to spend Christmas skiing at Snowmass, so the region can stake claim to some sort of atmospheric magnetism for golfers.)

Golfing at an elevation of 8,000 feet in the dry, thin mountain air is unique. At Colorado’s high altitudes drives fly higher and further. But thin air also creates extreme hooks and shanks.

High country links are often characterized by long drives, narrow fairways, and short approaches – and some of the most stunning vistas in the United States. Lining up a drive in front of the peak of Mt. Sopris, Maroon Bells, Pyramid Peak, or the Roaring Fork River is a memorable experience, regardless of your handicap.
